Ah, another Supermouse artist to love! Many greats have put their imprint on Supermouse; among them Al Hubbard, Milt Stein, Dan Gordon, and Richard Hughes. Comfortable in this rarified company is Gene Fawcette, who drew a bushel of Supermouse stories for Pines Comics.
Among Fawcette’s pleasures are his variable-line brushwork and an angular style which seems very modern - even hip. His layouts and characters always have an appealing sense of joy (no Supermouse artist may enter the pantheon of greats unless Supe’s simple joy at being super is communicated). The following two stories come from Supermouse No. 44, Summer 1958.
