The work of Dan Gormley has become better known in recent years after Drawn and Quarterly Publishing began its John Stanley Library - as Gormley provided finished art for Stanley's layouts in several volumes. His work here on Mr. Magoo showcases his pretty, near-perfect brushwork (with just a hint of Stanley in the hotel detective?). I love how Gormley's line looks so effortless, so easy and natural. This story comes from Gerald McBoing Boing and the Nearsighted Mr. Magoo No. 1, August-October 1952.
This single pager is from the same issue, back cover; and is also the work of Mr. Gormley.
